Stadtgeschichtliches Museum Leipzig

Aim

The aim is to preserve a collection which is unique in Germany and to house it in a location which would permit permanent exhibitions to be held.

The friends association supports the organisation and funding of exhibitions and publications, and enables the museum to participate in projects in other regions. Numerous purchases since 1991 have been possible only with the association’s assistance.

Sports Museum News

The support association has published a newsletter called “Sportmuseum aktuell” since 1993. It appears quarterly and is delivered throughout Europe. It is the most important medium for information and communication by the museum and the friends association, deals with subjects from all fields of sports history and with the work of the museum, and reports on our PR activities.
